If CDE or Maintenance is in use by a console, remote access via RS-232 or telnet will be refused. If the system returns such a message, yet the console(s) on the system are idle and do not appear to be logged in, the console may be viewing logs.
To clear the error, from the console select Function - Alarms - Cancel - Cancel - Exit.
This situation can occur if the console is viewing logs when an incoming call arrives and is answered without exiting from the alarm view. When the call is complete, the console is returned to the idle screen. If the user forgets they were in logs, CDE and Maintenance access will be prohibited. |
