Article Title
Programming Door Open via Feature Access Code 66
Publish Date
Jun-9-2004

Description/Symptoms
Using feature access code 66 (Open Door) you can open a door remotely.

Body/Solutions
This article explains how to enable a push button approach to remotely opening a door to a building. When someone presses it, phones will ring and they can unlock the door. You cannot establish a talk path between the Door Phone and the person that answers.

The Door Phone is programmed in form 9 in bay 1 slot 13 circuit 30.

Program the Door Phone in a tenant of its own. In form 19 for that tenant, program the dial 0 point to be where you want to ring when someone presses the Entry button at the door. It can be a keyline that appears on several phones. Pins 7 and 8 of the RJ45 on the back of the unit should be connected to the push button at the door. When these 2 pins are shorted, it will ring the answer point that was programmed as the dial 0 point for the tenant of the Door Phone. If a name is programmed for the Door Phone, the sets will display the extension number of the Door Phone and the Name programmed at the set in form 9. i.e. (Door Phone). When the door phone call is answered, there will be no talk path.

Anyone can dial the access code for Feature 66 in form 2 and this will short pins 1 and 2 on the 9 pin connector on the front of the 200 ICP labelled as Relays. Pins 1 and 2 would be connected to some solenoid that would active the electric lock on the door. When this access code is dialed, it unlocks the door for 5 seconds. This is not a programmable timer. You can dial this access code at any time to open the door.

You can also program a Door Open key on the phones and it can be pressed instead of dialing the feature access code. When the Door Button is pressed, it will start ringing the destination and when the value of COS option 115 in the Door Phones COS, expires, the destination phone(s) will stop ringing.

If you have a sub attendant phone or a console, you can set call forwarding on the Door Phone to ring a destination instead of programming it as described above.
