Description/Symptoms
When using Windows XP, it is possible to prevent the OS from offering NTFS as a choice when formatting a flash card for use in an SX-200 ICP.

Body/Solutions
Set the USB flash drive to be optimized for removal rather than performance. Windows XP is incapable of formatting a flash card NTFS if the card is optimized for quick removal.

Open Control Panel and select the icon for System
Select the Hardware Tab, then select the Device Manager
In the device list shown, expand the Disk Drive(s) twisty
Right click the USB drive and select Properties
Select the Policies Tab
Select Optimize for Quick Removal

Select OK to close any open dialog boxes.

Test Result
If you format at flash card using the USB interface, it will not present NTFS as a choice for file system.
