Article Title
Layer 2 switch losing communication on the 200 ICP CX
Publish Date
Jan-1-2006

Body/Solutions
The 200 ICP can be programmed to use the Wan port as a gateway, or you can use an external router and connect it to one of the layer 2 ports. If you are using an external router connected to one of the layer 2 ports, the static address of this router would be programmed as the default gateway. If this is the case, then do not program the layer 2 address in form 47 as this same address.
If you do, then you have 2 devices using the same IP address and the layer 2 switch on the CX will keep resetting.
If you are using the Wan port as the gateway, then it is quite common to have the embedded layer 2 switch and the default gateway programmed as the same IP address.
If you are experiencing this problem, the pstlog file will indicate that the Layer 2 switch is losing communication.
