The Precidia unit is required for external systems that do not support Telnet connectivity such as some call accounting and PMS servers. To setup the Precidia, you will need the following equipment and information:- A communications program set at 9600, 8N1.
- A null serial cable if you have an Ether 232Plus, a straight through cable is needed for the Ipocket.
- The IP address of your SX-200 ICP
- The IP address you are going to use for the Precidia unit
- The Telnet socket you've programmed as your device in form 12.
As noted in the technical documentation, the following are the port numbers as they associate to PLIDs in form 12, and the port for E-MEM PMS connectivity:
| PLID | Port (Socket Number) |
| 1/13/20 | 61320 |
| 1/13/21 | 61321 |
| 1/13/22 | 61322 |
| 1/13/23 | 61323 |
| 1/13/24 | 61324 |
| 1/13/25 | 61325 |
| 1/13/26 | 61326 |
| 1/13/27 | 61327 |
| 1/13/28 | 61328 |
The socket for E-MEM PMS support is 6830
Ether 232 Plus.
Start and setup your communication program, and connect the cross-over serial cable to the DB9 connector on the Precidia unit. (The Ipocket 232 variant uses a straight through serial cable.) Once connected, push and hold the recessed button on the Precidia located beneath the Configure label. Precidia's configuration screen will appear. While in programming mode, pressing ? will refresh the screen.
Ethernet Setup:
1. Select 1 from the menu. A new screen appears with the current ethernet settings.
2. Select A, and input the IP address you will use for the Precidia unit.
3. Select B, and input the subnet mask. This value is usually 255.255.255.000.
4. Select C, and input the network gateway address.

Connect the ethernet cable to the ethernet port on the Precidia unit. Whether a cross-over or straight through cable is needed depends on the device to which the Precidia is connecting. Usually it will be a straight through cable. Now reset the Precidia by removing the power connector momentarily.

Testing may be done in three ways:Ÿ from the same communications program used to setup the Precidia
Ÿ using CDE Data Print
Ÿ using CDE SMDR
If you assign Data Print or SMDR, in form 34, to the DN that you used in form 12, you can initiate a Data print and see the output on your PC, or make a trunk call and see the call record.
If the test fails, verify the Telnet connectivity.
1. Power off the Precidia unit.
2. Statically assign the IP address you're using for the Precidia to your laptop
3. Move the ethernet cable to your laptop
4. Initiate a Telnet session from a command prompt
c:\telnet 192.168.1.1 61322 (where the socket number is 61322).
If you cannot connect to your chosen socket, PING the ICP from your laptop. |
